About The Park
AIRMAN Skatepark is a public skatepark located in the Niigata Sports Park in Niigata, Japan. It opened on July 30, 2023, and is the largest skatepark in the prefecture.
It is the first full-concrete park in Niigata City, and it features three areas: street, park, and indoor. Each area has a variety of sections, making it one of the most comprehensive skateparks in the country.
The park’s theme is “A skatepark that everyone can enjoy and want to come back to.” The park is designed to be balanced, so that users of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced, can enjoy it.
The opening ceremony was attended by professional skateboarders, including Japanese national team member Ayumu Hirano. They performed stunning demonstrations, which greatly impressed the audience.
The park is open from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Admission is 600 yen for adults and 200 yen for high school students and younger.
To use the park, you must first register as a user. You will then be given a wristband that you must wear each time you visit. Skateboards, protective gear, and other equipment are available for rent, so even those who don’t own their own equipment can enjoy the park.
Local skaters have been waiting for this park to be made, and it is already attracting visitors from all over the prefecture and beyond. It is sure to become a major force in the scene in the Tohoku region.
