About The Park
Shonai Skatepark opened in 2019 and is the biggest skatepark in Nagoya. Anyone can use this park for free and do BMX and in-line skating here. The park has parking lots and Daiichi parking is the nearest parking lot from the skatepark. The park has vast ground and there are so many exciting sections. The flat area and section area are divided so even beginner skaters can enjoy skating here. But here’s what you need to be careful with. You need to put a wrist band on your wrist to when you skate here. To get the band you need to register beforehand at the gym in the park. This could be tricky for foreigners.

About The Sections
First of all, the ground is so smooth, you’d feel comfortable skating here. And the sections are arranged nicely. The sections are mainly “street style” like banks, half pipes, ledges, and so on. The sections are in middle size so beginners can try to make tricks here easily. Even though the sections aren’t that big, there are some unique ones so upper-level skaters can also enjoy.
This park is one of the most popular skateparks in Aichi. Even though it has vast ground, it gets so busy on weekends. If you’re a beginner skater, you’d not be able to enjoy skating here when it’s busy. For beginners, I’d recommend going there early in the morning. Also, a lot of people say the local skaters here are kind of mean, so watch out for them.
Overall, I’d say this park is for “middle-level skaters“.
